Let the Games Begin!

The first annual Fireside Amateur-Commentator Tourney will be held on Sunday, November 11th, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. PST. You can join in on the fun just by emailing Sara "Believer" Stobbe at Sara326@mediaone.net and bidding for the chance to play with one of the Fireside Commentators and invited OKBridge personalities listed below. The one with the highest bid gets first pick, second highest bidder gets the second pick, etc.

All proceeds go to the Fireside Fund to further the cause of online bridge teaching.

At 9:00 A.M. PST, one hour before game time, we will all meet at Believer's table for the selection of players. The pairs will then have time to discuss system and fill out a convention card.

This is a "free" tourney, open to all, so you do not require a tourney account to bid on and play with your expert partner. After the tourney we will all return to Believer's table for a final roundup and determination of the winning pair. The triumphant amateur will receive a trophy (above) while the last place finisher will get a signed copy of "Bridge Over the Rainbow". Hand analysis will be emailed to all of the participants later.

"But what if I only want to play with one particular person?" No problem. Just tell us when you are emailing in your bid: "I want to bid this amount on so-and-so." No problem!
